Innovation Day 2026: Contagem Plant Hosts a Full Program Dedicated to Innovation

October is marked by an event that has already become a tradition: Innovation Day, now celebrating its 5th edition since it was first launched in 2022.

Throughout the event, employees from different shifts took part in a program designed to bring people, ideas, and new technologies closer together, reinforcing the importance of a culture that embraces transformation.

The agenda featured a variety of experiences throughout the day. Employees had the opportunity to interact with several partner exhibitors, participate in an innovation assessment, enter prize drawings, and get a closer look at some of the electric vehicles showcased during the event.

Knowledge sharing and the exchange of experiences were also at the heart of the initiative. The inTalks program, featuring volunteer presentations by our employees, included short talks on creativity, sustainability, innovation, 3D printing, safety, workplace relationships, and volunteering. The format made it possible to explore a wide range of topics in a quick and accessible way across all three operational shifts, encouraging collaboration and the exchange of experiences.

Another highlight was the discussion “Innovation Culture at Maxion,” held in partnership with AEVO, a Maxion partner. The session explored how innovation can become part of the organization’s culture and everyday activities.

The program also featured the main panel, “Innovation Powered by Artificial Intelligence,” held online with the participation of Maxion Structural Components Global Innovation Director Marco Ricci; Maxion Wheels Global Innovation Manager Gulsah Kurt; Contagem Plant Director Marcus Puerta; and AEVO CEO Luis Carvalho. The conversation broadened perspectives on how Artificial Intelligence can support new ways of working, creating, and innovating.

More than showcasing new technologies, Innovation Day aimed to encourage curiosity, collaboration, and a sense of ownership. By connecting content, experiences, and people, the initiative reinforces that innovation does not happen only through major projects: it also comes from the ideas and improvements we create every day.

I’m in. I’m innovation.
