Contagem Plant inaugurates Maxion’s first external green route.
In 2026, Maxion further strengthens ROADMAP ZERO as the central pillar of its sustainability strategy, reinforcing its commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2040.
Progress is already tangible: greater operational efficiency, expanded use of renewable energy, application of recycled and low-carbon materials, and the development of lighter components aligned with sustainable mobility.
One of the standout projects is the Green Route – Electric Transportation, implemented at the Contagem plant. This initiative enabled the operation of Maxion Structural Components’ first electric truck on an external route, replacing diesel transport with a cleaner solution.

Each vehicle has the potential to reduce approximately 24 tons of CO₂e per year, with a range of about 250 km and a full charging time of around seven hours. The business model adopted eliminates the need for CAPEX investment, as the truck and charger were acquired by a partner supplier, demonstrating the feasibility of electric transportation and directly contributing to Scope 3 decarbonization.
In addition to its environmental impact and its significant contribution to ROADMAP ZERO targets, the project is aligned with the commitments made to the UN Global Compact, particularly within the Environmental pillar, by transforming global goals into measurable, structural, and long-term actions.
