Maxion promotes awareness-raising actions to end violence against women and Women’s Equality
In August, two important dates for women are celebrated: the campaign to end violence against women and the International Day for Women’s Equality. In Brazil, the Purple August is celebrated, a campaign to end domestic violence against women.
The date is due to the institution of the Maria da Penha Law. UN Women establishes the 25th of each month as Orange Day, to end violence against women and girls. To celebrate these dates, several actions were carried out at the plants promoted by the Gender Affinity Groups and the Diversity & Inclusion Committee.
An online lecture was held for more than 250 people from Brazil and Mexico with the theme “August & Women’s Safety” where psychologist Renata Mendes approached the topic very naturally, bringing up important issues such as the impacts of violence on women’s lives, the types of violence and how to report it.
The Cruzeiro Gender Group held a discussion group to discuss Women’s Equality. Production Supervisors Laurinês Siqueira and Mariana Baldo from Maxion Wheels shared their experiences and told the participants about their journeys. It was a moment of exchange and an opportunity for more women to connect. The group also held the monthly CIPAA meeting and several meetings with the plant’s teams.
