At Maxion Structural Components Innovation is in our DNA. It’s the center of everything we do. We seek innovation in all our processes, developments and products. We work with our customers to develop new, lighter, greener materials to meet the needs of an increasingly demanding market.
We have implemented a culture of innovation, where everyone is invited to participate democratically, suggesting ideas, breaking paradigms, helping to shape the future of mobility.
The Future Of Mobility
The automobile market undergoes profound changes due to a greater environmental awareness, being guided mainly by: electrification, autonomous, connected and shared vehicles. In this new market, only traditional solutions are no longer sufficient. This opens up new opportunities that can and must be seized through innovation.
New players emerge bringing disruptive business models, and the current players work on applying the new technologies available in their products. Services and goods related to the transport of cargo and people are consumed in a different way, which we call the New Mobility.
Guided by these trends and through its open innovation system, MSC works developing lighter solutions, combining design to manufacture (process at the lowest possible cost), new technologies in materials and processes, new business models, new functionalities for structural components and in digital transformation contributing to the global reduction of the carbon footprint.
Through its vision, mission and values, MSC supports the practice of innovation of its internal culture, the relationship with its partners and employees, contributing to a more sustainable future.
Weight Reduction
Given the need to improve the energy efficiency of vehicles and reduce damage to the environment, weight reduction is one of the main objectives of the automotive sector. Maxion Structural Components works continuously in the development of lighter structures for vehicles. Weight reduction is one of MSC’s main areas of research.
MSC develops lighter solutions, combining design to manufacture (process at the lowest possible cost), new technologies in materials and processes to offer the best weight reduction results and meet the needs of its customers, and the automotive sector. The extensive experience in technology and development of multi-material solutions has given rise to several alternatives to obtain lighter vehicles.
Digital Transformation
Based on its global digital transformation strategy, Maxion Structural Components has been applying the most modern technologies in industry 4.0, such as artificial intelligence, IOT (internet of things) and data science to continuously increase its level of operational excellence. The strategy seeks to establish a digital transformation within MSC, which can be an important competitive advantage for the company, whether in efficiency or in the agility and quality of interaction with customers.
The plan is based on three pillars: digitization and integration of vertical and horizontal value chains, digitization of product and service offerings and digital business models and customer access.
In practice, MSC intends to implement technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data (collection and analysis of large data sets) to achieve greater process efficiency and increase effectiveness in processes such as quality control.
We have several successful cases (some of which are awarded by our customers and external entities), where it is possible to identify innovative technologies to optimize processes, both industrial and back office.
