Innovation Day 2024 Held in Castaños, Mexico
Innovation Day is the main event of Maxion Structural Components to foster a culture of innovation and engage employees on the topic. The third edition of Innovation Day took place on October 17, 2024, at Maxion’s plant in Castaños, Mexico. The event featured the presence of the Global Director of Strategy and Innovation, Marco Tulio Ricci, the global innovation team, and important partners from Startup Mexico, one of the largest hubs connecting with the country’s innovation culture.
Focused on showing employees the strength of innovation at Maxion, the event was held across all three shifts of the plant, reaching over 2500 people, including company employees and students from the Inmagusa Institute. In addition to the exhibition of parts, prototypes, and improvement projects, a live online webinar was held for all other Maxion units worldwide, featuring the Director of the Castaños unit, David Garcia, Sales Director Núbia Cardenas, and Abraham Silva, an engineer from International (formerly Navistar), moderated by Marco Ricci.
During the discussion, Maxion Structural Components’ strategy for the Americas was addressed, and the current state of the North American market, where important clients for Maxion’s plant in Mexico are located, was explored. “We can say that the event was incredible, not only for promoting the culture of innovation but also for being present in a Maxion unit that, in addition to having an amazing team, has great strategic importance for the division. Talking about innovation for Mexico was one of our goals this year, and we can say that we succeeded. For Maxion Structural Components, innovation is in our DNA and guides everything we do, as we seek to innovate in all our processes, developments, and products to achieve global leadership in automotive structures and inspire people to move with us,” commented Marco Ricci.
In 2025, Innovation Day returns to the Cruzeiro/SP unit in Brazil. According to Innovation Supervisor Sami Simão, “we are in continuous construction and reinvention of our innovation culture and invite everyone to walk with us in this stage, whether through suggestion and idea capture or breaking paradigms and challenging the status quo, to transform the future of mobility.”
